Small Bathroom Ideas: Traditional-Style Bathrooms

I love it when the bathroom feel more like a room, than a bath.

I was looking for decorating ideas for my apartment 5x7 bathroom. Please some ideas for "traditiional" sized small bathrooms. What you have shown appear to be master bath ideas. Sorry but even some of your powder rooms are larger than my bathroom!

I have a 5x7 bath, took out the old cabinet vanity and put in a pedestal sink. It opened up space, but now lack storage. Wish I had room for built in cabinetry shown in the slides .

5x7 make-overs please, ditto to what others have said. I guess you're using a Texan's perspective.

I really don't believe this picture is in small bathroom ideas. This is far from a small bathroom. You need to show pictures of small bathrooms in houses that the average Joe lives in!

WOW!! these bathrooms are huge in comparison to what i have ok umm i need ideas on how to decorate or update a bathroom the size of a coffin !! im being serious

What do you consider a small bathroom? In my book these do not qualify at all.

The bathroom is gigantic compared to what I have in my 1923 cottage. It is beautiful, though. I love the style. Janice

I also have a 5'x8' bathroom. We have opted to remove the tub and replace with a shower. We are putting in neutral tile on wall and floor. Still debating on vanity w/sink or pedestal sink. Still have time to decide on that while we wait for shower floor to come in.

bathroom is original (1911) with a slant wall. pipes freeze in winter and the water pressure is nill. Remodeling with eye on sellable features so need a tub.Clawfoot will go-space is 6 x 10. window and door mirror each other and I need to reconfigure the space for storage and tub/shower, sink, toilet. These bathrooms are too large for my small space. Please give us makeovers for 'TINY' bathrooms.....sounds like I'm not alone in the request. Thanks

I agree the lack of a tub may not hurt resale.

A lot of these bathrooms are not small on these pictures so I cant connect the ideas given to my small bathroom.

I also agree. I have the small 5X7 with tub, toilet and sink. Mine is a micro bathroom also. Need ideas for TINY bathrooms.

we just redid our small (5'x8') bathroom and it looks wonderful. We have a 38"x38" shower and 48" vanity with extra drawer space on the bottom and one of the new higher toilets. Sure I'd like a beautiful bathtub - but there's no room I'd rather have the extra space. I don't think that the lack of a tub really affects the resale value

These are NOT small bathroom pics. My largest bath is about 8x5 feet & it has a shower/tub,vanity & toilet. There isn't even enough space for a linen closet. HELP! I'm not the only one that has commented on this. Is there a possibility that our comments will be taken seriously and we can expect to see some new pics of "SMALL BATHROOMS"?

I agree with the others. My small bath is 5 x 7. I have to fit the tub/shower, toilet, sink and a radiator. Where are the designs for this size room. I guess we have micro bathrooms.

I agree with the size thing. Small bathrooms do not have space available for two sinks. Be realistic!

these bathrooms are NOT small. Let's have some ideas on a 5 X 7 room with tub, toilet and sink all touching each other and only a small walk area.

I agree if I look at all the pictures, but these are designers.When I had a 5x8 bathroom I thought it was tight, now with this 5x5'6' closet that's my main bath, tight and small. So I see features that I can use in the pictures i.e. a tile, a mirror etc. not the whole room. The designers should clarify what dimensions are small. This would be helpful to everyone.

I have a 5'x5'6" bathroom.Tub is along the5'wall across from the door.The toilet is 2"from the tub and next is the vanity,then the doorway.The tub is under a window 44" wide.House a duplex, with neighbor on one side, and small bedroom on other. Want to remodel the bathroom, need some ideas.Should I put in a corner sink by the door, move toilet over 2"from tub and where would mirror go?I'm large, so need a soaker tub, friend suggested a shower with a seat instead. Would affect resale.

I live in a small apartment above an old bank building. I have a 1/2 bath with commode and sink. The other 1/2 bath has a shower/tub unit and I have my up/down washer dryer there. Any ideas on how to add storage place. Thanks.

I have 2 baths: 5x8 and 9x13. Had hoped for design tips. I prefer small bath. Andersen awning window is above tub/shower enclosure; it provides wonderful light, ventilation, privacy. No need for a covering. White pedestal sink & toilet have backsplash and nice detail. Oversized brass fixtures are a focal point. New fixtures added instant impact. Flooring & toilet seat are faux oak. Walls are white & bare. No storage. No mirror. Lights over sink--"brass" is peeling. Designer's midas touch needed!

These pictures are "not really" small bathrooms.

My small bathroom is 5 x 8 also and it is small.

I have yet to see a SMALL bathroom. My bathroom can fit inside some of these showers! I have a 5X7 bathroom. WHy can't you show that size room? I'd like to see someone do mine over and give it all it needs. Some of these bathrooms even have washers and dryers in them!!!! Unreal for the average homeowner.

Just remodeled my small master bath with one sink,toilet and added a shower with a small car wash for the body. It is great. Be glad to share pictures.

I agree...these are NOT small bathrooms. My master bathroom is tiny. I bought an older home and am remodeling it, but dont have the budget to add on a new big bathroom, so I want REAL ideas on how to renovate a REALLY SMALL bathroom that just has a toilet, shower and one sink...no room for much else.

instead of inspiring me you have depressed me....the smallest bathroom you had made my biggest bathroom look small. Your article totally missed the mark. The ideas were pretty but come on....

So frustrating to click on an article like this, thinking it might pertain to us people who have tiny, tiny rooms with low ceilings in an old 60's house...

AMEN TO THAT! They say small - how about a Master Bath that is 4 x 8 - and 4 of the 8 is a walk in shower? I mean come on - I've learned to scoff at these 'small bath" makeovers.

rpihnen: I don't get your problem. Obviously these bathrooms are small...I mean, com'on, they look like they can only hold 10 people at MOST, not like the usual 20 I can cram in mine. Seriously though, none of those bathrooms could be possibly smaller than my kitchen. What can you guys do with a 5x7 bathroom?

I echo lazidaisies sentiment-what about those of us who truly have SMALL bathrooms? We are the ones who really need help! I would love to have a segment on that!

Two fairly large vanities, a tub and a walk-in shower = "Small" bathroom? Why don't you give room dimensions with each photo? Do you ever give ideas for bathrooms that are truly small, say the old standard 5' x 7' bathroom? This is frustrating, because your idea of small is what many of us don't even have as large.

I like every thing here,i hope to study the decoration but i don't know any site can help me to study it.
