Step 7: Attach panels to wall.
Squeeze a zigzag bead of construction adhesive on the wall side of the beaded-board panels. Using adhesive helps anchor the field of the panel. Using nails along the edges as indicated by the manufacturer, attach the panels to the wall. If you’re hammering the nails by hand, use a nail set to inset the nail below the face of the wood so the nailhead can be covered with wood-color or paintable putty.


Panels should be spaced and overlapped according to manufacturer recommendations to allow for expansion and contraction caused by temperature and humidity changes.
