Step 1: Prepare the curtain.
Wash and dry the shower curtain, and choose photographs or clippings from magazines, catalogs, calendars, and other copyright-free material.
Step 2: Print to transfer paper.
Scan the images into your computer and print onto transfer paper as directed by the manufacturer. Or photocopy images directly onto transfer paper as directed by the manufacturer. If the images aren’t the right size for your project, reduce or enlarge them as desire before printing them onto the transfer paper.
Step 3: Add words.
If desired, type words or phrases into a word-processing program and flip the wording so it prints as a mirror image onto the transfer paper. Look in the advance options printing menu for a mirror-reverse option (check your software instructions). Some printers also offer a reverse-printing option.
Step 4: Clip images and words.
Cut out transfer paper images along the perimeter. Place the cutouts facedown on the curtain panel, positioning them to ensure you have a pleasing design and enough images. You also can experiment with border patterns using repeating or random images.
